In 1999, Frito-Lay asked its suppliers not to use genetically engineered corn. As of 2013 they still cannot guarantee their product is GMO free. According to Food Babe, Fritos is not GMO free, except in countries where GMOs are against the law. Frito-Lay is being sued in court for misleading its US customers.
