Sally's Place will be closing at the end of the summer. The shop in Westport has been an institution since I was a kid. It's one of the last standing independent record stores in Fairfield County. Even though owner Sally White doesn't like to carry rap or metal because of the language, she stocks a lot of jazz and hard to find sounds. Over the years, the internet changed buying habits, as fewer people listen to music on CDs, record stores vanish. Old timers and even young jazz aficionados are going to miss Sally. I know I will.
